Chapter 5 : Linear inequalities
overview:
This unit is on
Algebraic Inequalities. Students will be learning how to solve and graph linear
inequalities using addition, multiplication, division, and multiplication with
one or two variables and multiple steps. They will also deal with inequalities
using compound statements and absolute value. I ordered the lessons like the
textbook because it is ordered in a natural learning way from easiest to most
complex. For example, knowing how to solve inequalities using addition and
subtraction will lead to them being able to do the same steps using
multiplication and division. Also, once students know how to do examples with
one variable, they will then progress to be able to do it with two
variables...and same thing for increasing number of steps to solve for a
variable.
